Principal Investigator
Dr. Sheng ZHOU is an Assistant Professor in Sustainable Energy and Environment Thrust at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) since 2023. He received the Bachelor degree in Chemistry (Elite class) in 2016 and Master degree in Chemical Engineering from South China University of Technology in 2018. He was awarded the Ph. D. degree in Chemical Science from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in 2022, supervised by Prof. Mohamed Eddaoudi. Afterward, he worked with Prof. Michael Tsapatsis, a member of National Academy of Engineering (USA), as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins University before joining the HKUST(GZ). He was awarded the National Talent Program for Young Scholars in 2023.
He is credited with pioneering the development of an electrified membrane synthesis approach for the fabrication of MOF membranes with gas-sieving quality, making him the first researcher in the world to do so. As the first author, his research outcomes have been published in prestigious journals such as Nature, Nature Energy, Science Advances, Chem, etc, with a google citation of more than 1800 times.
