Prior to joining HKUST(GZ) in May 2022, he was an R&D Engineer working on silicon photonics at
Interuniversity Microelectronics Center (imec) in Belgium. He completed his Ph.D. at
the Chinese University of Hong Kong supervised by
Prof. Hon Ki TSANG
and his B.Eng at UESTC. He was a visiting researcher of
Prof. John E. Bowers
group at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2019. He has authored and co-authored
over 100 publications including Nature, Science, Nature Communications,
Optica, and Laser & Photonics Reviews. He has four top-scored conference papers
including OFC 2019, OFC 2024, ECOC 2025, and OFC 2026. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and listed in
“World's Top 2% Scientists”. His research interests include silicon photonics, optical
communications,
optical signal processing, optics for AI and AI for optics.
