Dr. Juan Du is an Assistant Professor with the Smart Manufacturing Thrust at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and is also affiliated with the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at HKUST, Hong Kong SAR, and the Guangzhou HKUST Fok Ying Tung Research Institute. Her research focuses on industrial data analytics, machine learning, and AI for smart manufacturing systems. She has published 18 high-profile research papers in leading journals like ASME Transactions and IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering. Seven of her papers have won best paper awards or been finalists from prestigious organizations, such as the IISE Data Analytics and Information Systems (DAIS) Section and the INFORMS Quality, Statistics and Reliability (QSR) Section. Additionally, she has secured 8 research grants from national and provincial governments, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
